With Esbit stove no. 9, the burner is ready for use after opening the side parts. Place one or two Esbit fuel tablets on the central flat tablet bed and light them with a match. The thin-walled cooking vessel or the opened tin should be placed on the vertical side panels. If small cooking vessels such as drinking cups are used, it is sufficient to open the side parts of the cooker up to the first notch. The cup then rests on the angled side parts.

Esbit fuel can be refilled, blown out and later re-ignited without any danger.
Esbit is used:

• for heating food and drink, especially canned goods;
• for heating the water when shaving, rinsing the mouth and teeth clean;
• for preparing tea, bouillon, grog;
• for preparing warm sausages, boiled eggs, fried potatoes, etc.

Esbit solid fuel is available in specialist shops in packs of 10, 20, 50 and 100 tablets.
