Description

A reproduction of an original Wilhelmina cigarette wrapper. On August 31, 1941, these cigarette packs were dropped throughout the Netherlands by the Royal Air Force (RAF). This happened on the occasion of the 61st birthday of Queen Wilhelmina, who was in exile in London. In this way they wanted to encourage the Dutch people.

The label contains various resistance slogans, such as The Netherlands will Resurrect!, Orange will Overcome! and the V for Victory. The package also contains the date August 31, 1941 and the coat of arms of Queen Wilhelmina. The cigarettes were made from tobacco from the Dutch East Indies. On the casing of the cigarette are the letters OZO, which stands for Orange will Overcome.
